Great friendly service from Shaun and his colleague. Came in to replace a kitchen tap and install an outside tap.They did a cracking job, especially with a bit of a difficult space under the sink and backboard.Great chat and explained everything through the process! Top job!

Shaun has recently completed a lot of work at my daughters house (she is a first time home owner) The work that Shaun completed included fitting a bathroom, bathroom panelling, kitchen unit doors, kitchen sink, new worktop, Laminate flooring, replaced radiators and internal doors and I honestly can't recommend him enough. He is friendly, reliable, does a great job, is reasonably priced and tidies up after himself! I have already recommended him to Family and friends as from past personal experience, finding a tradesman that you can trust isn't easy and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Shaun with his apprentice Kaine and Anthony, the builder built a beautiful kitchen extension, altered the downstairs to allow for a granny flat to enable our daughter and partner to live alongside us but independently. Shaun made good previous work (plumbing electrics) and installed masses of insulation. He uses excellent tradesmen -Anthony the builder, Adam - plasterer, and James -electrician, all of whom were efficient and very helpful- fabulous job. They were onsite for around 8 weeks and every problem was sorted with minimum of fuss.All the workers cleared up after themselves( we were living among it) they were brilliant. The quote was very good and although loads of extra work was done we didn't end up paying loads extra!! Shaun is coming back to do more work for us in October and I have recommended him to family and friends, I am really pleased with the work, and can recommend him without hesitation.

Overall SMJ replaced kitchen doors and associated work to a good standard. Unfortunately two months after completion of the work a problem arose with the fitting of an integrated dishwasher door. SMJ denied responsibility for the problem and this proved to be unresolvable. Disappointing! TRADER RESPONSE I am disappointed to read this feedback, as I have been on the scheme for over 9 years, and have always had excellent feedback. â please see the rest of my reviews. I am however pleased to read the customer said he was happy with the standard of my work. I feel I did everything I could for this customer, and donât believe I have failed in my obligations.

Shaun installed a downstairs toilet for us in what was a small pantry. He came to look at the job when he said he would, advised on all aspects that needed to be done how long it would take, and gave a fair price. We are very pleased with the finished job, which was done to a very high standard and we have asked him to do more work for us in the near future. Shaun is hard working, pleasant and reliable and we would be very confident in recommendIng him.

Shaun and Callum removed the partition wall between my study and kitchen. They then made good, moved light switches, installed sockets and arranged for Alex to do the plastering once they had completed. I am very pleased indeed with the work they have done. Shaun was really pleasant and gave good advice as issues arose. I was impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the speed at which the work progressed. I would not hesitate to use SMJ Joinery again and can confidently recommend this firm to other Wigan residents.

Shaun and Callum are like the dynamic duo.......they've already done a loft conversion for us as well as a new bathroom and this time we had a roofing and drainpipe problem which after a bit of creative thinking and design work they solved. Can't recommend them highly enough and the work has been undertaken for 3 generations of the family. They are great tradesmen and can be relied upon to turn up on time and leave your house clean and tidy when they've finished. They are also nice people as well which is always a bonus

I required advice and job completion on several aspects of a kitchen refurbishment. This was not straightforward as I had a second hand kitchen which needed putting in as well as some other jobs. During the process of the job we discovered, electrical, gas and plumbing issues that needed sorting which Shaun did, taking everything in his stride. He is very honest, reliable, punctual and trustworthy as well as doing a superior job! I have and will continue to tell my friends and family about him and I will definitely now be using him for all my building work. I can not rate him highly enough

SMJ had been employed to install a more suitable bathroom for my mother in law who had been having mobility difficulties in her previous one. Shaun and Callum worked very hard and completed the works in under 3 days with the least fuss as possible, the completed works is not only beautiful but fully functional and safe. We first used Shaun for hanging doors through this scheme and were impressed with his attitude and workmanship. Shaun has now just completed the refit of our kitchen with new cupboard and drawer fronts and realigning units. Shaun works with his apprentice, Callum who is as polite and tidy as Shaun. They arrived early as arranged and started work immediately. At the end of the day they removed all rubbish and swept up. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Shaun.

Shaun was working with Marc Mulligan, Building Services to repair brickwork and the roof that was coming away from the front of our garage. Shaun suggested a practical solution using materials that matched the rest of the house but were not too pricey. The overall result is very impressive and we are really pleased with the quality of the work and the appearance. The area was left clean and tidy and Shaun was polite and professional. I would recommend Shaun without hesitation.

I needed a new internal door fitted so I phoned Shaun who said he was very busy but would call me to let me know when he could fit it. A couple of days later he phoned to tell me he would come this morning at 8am. He was very punctual, very pleasant and did an excellent job which I am extremely pleased with. Replaced 3 floors in old farmhouse. Shaun and Jordan worked incredibly hard and finished the work in 2days, even charging less than the quote. An excellent job. Will use again and thoroughly recommend. Good trader scheme great at finding traders especially if like us you are new to area.

Shaun was very considerate and I felt I could trust him. Turned up early, nipped out for parts, came back and did a tricky job replacing bath taps, which included first removing a custom made wooden bath panel. Left everything tidy too.I would certainly recommend and use this business again. :-)

Extremely friendly, but very professional service. Shaun fitted new kitchen worktops in a room with a number of unusual joints/cut outs. The standard of the completed job is very high and the worktop joints are seamless. I have already recommended SMJ to a friend and will be using Shaun again for some future planned work. Turned up on time (early) and did the work to the quoted price.
