Mike took the chimney stack down, an old boiler vent and made the roof good. They were extremely clean and tidy and got on with the work until completion. They were also very punctual and polite. We felt confident in their hands.

Mike replaced a full roof for me from slate to grey tiles that I wanted, also I had new fascias, soffits and gutters. I was very happy with the quote he gave us, when they started work they arrived at 9am every morning it only took them 4 days to do it all, everyday they cleaned up after themselves, and on the last day did a deep clean. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone who is wanting a new roof! Fantastic service

Took a while to get done since the quotation. Sometimes good traders are not always free. Trades turned up when they said and got the work finished when they estimated. The work was done quickly and efficient and all debris cleared.

New slate tile roof. Coordinated with solar panels, new fascia, soffit and guttering. Mike also coordinated lead ridges, removed all waste and arranged scaffolding for prolonged period so we could remove asbestos soffits. So helpful and calm throughout. Pleasure to work with and I highly recommend.

Mike arranged for scaffolding prior to the roof being replaced - plus he organised replacement of the soffits and fascias. All the workmen were polite , hardworking and punctual - Mike had kept them fully informed of our requests in respect of the work being carried out . Mike and his apprentice are outstanding workmen - each step of the process was explained and Mike did what he said he was going to do at the time he said . Very reliable and clean worker . I rang Mike he explained he was very busy at the moment but asked me to send photos of my damaged roof which I did..Mike got back to me and told me he could do the job later that week at a very reasonable price which I agreed.I was concerned about how to get payment to him but he reassured me everything would be ok and payment would be sorted after I was satisfied with the job.Mike called and did the job when he said he would sending me pictures of the job completed.I went to his house and paid him for doing an excellent job would recommend and definitely use again.

Mike replaced two lead valleys on the front and rear roof of our 1930's house. Work was carried out in a prompt and professional manner. He kept us informed of progress and was polite and amenable at all times. The work was completed efficiently and cleanly and all rubbish was removed from the property. Mike O'Brien had replaced a number of roofs in our vicinity including for a friend who recommended him highly. The work was started on the agreed date, and completed as scheduled to our complete satisfaction.During the work great care was taken to ensure the roof remained watertight at all times and on its conclusion, an extreme cloudburst validated that it was leak proof! At the end of each day Mike tidied up as much as possible, and carried out a complete clear up at the conclusion of the work.I have no hesitation in recommending Mike to anyone who wishes work to be carried out on their roof.

Mike called round on his way home from work to carry out a temporary repair on my elderly mum's bay window flat roof, which was leaking badly into what is her downstairs bedroom. She is unable to get upstairs due to poor mobility. He then arranged for a full repair to be carried out the following week. There was a minor issue with the repair due to the excessively cold weather at the time but this was resolved very quickly, with no detriment whatsoever to my mum's living facilities which were secure from the weather at all times. Mike and his colleagues were polite and helpful throughout and I have no problem in recommending them to others.

Mike and Liam carried out a complete re-roof on our Victorian property, including the fitment of four Velux windows. The roof is not a straightforward semi and has a turret with two gullies. They completed the work in less than three weeks and pointed and re-leaded the chimneys. The completed work is excellent. They also left the property free from roof material waste. I would have no hesitation in recommending Makerfield Roof Solutions for any roofing work.

From beginning to end the service provided was of the highest standard. A very competitive quote, detailed statement of works to be carried out and the options of tile available to us. Work began time and was completed in full according to the job specification. Full communication regarding the status of the ongoing works was provided at all times in a very professional manner ie the day and time the scaffolding would arrive, same with the skips. Also very considerate where the neighbours were concerned ie time of starting work etc. Overall a very professional and highly skilled service. Mike gave a very competitive quote to re-roof our detached two story 1970s house. Good notice was given when he was going to commence work and when scaffolding and the skip would arrive. He was punctual, starting work on the day and time he had arranged. Mike was very efficient and completed the job much quicker than I expected. Mike removed and refitted the slate tiles on our roof. Even though the start date was delayed, he kept me fully informed. Iâm glad we waited for Mike to do the job. He provided a full breakdown of all the work he had completed, and included a number of photographs to show us the âfinished productâ. My roof was the original roof from 1880. Not only was the roof at the end of its life, letting a lot of water in through the nails and mortar constantly falling in to the attic storage space, but I also had leak where the beam had dropped. Not only did they fix the leak, they also renewed my roof. This included, removing all the slates, fitting a breathable membrane, replacing the battens, refitting the original slates, renewing the lead flashing and removing all waste. The two of them worked hard over 5 days to complete the job, I was especially impressed as the weather was dreadful! Hard working and honest! I would definitely use them again. Thank you!!

Having had difficulty in even getting some quotes with roofers not turning up when agreed, not responding etc we were recommended Mike who came out to quote when he said he would, and was happy to talk through options and provide a range of quotes for the work required and potential options. Was in no way pushy or trying to direct down a more expensive route etc - gave honest advice and thoughts from the outset.Pandemic made it harder to obtain some materials but Mike kept in touch and then completed the job to a very high standard in a short time span once work was able to commence. Onsite early each day, courteous and cleaned up well after all jobs. House looks fantastic and really glad we found Mike. Thanks for a job well done

After years of having the stress and expense of different roofers try to fix the leak on the chimney and after discussing the problem with Mike it was decided that it would be best to take the chimney down to under the roofline, which Mike did very efficiently and also re-slated the roof area and fitted an air vent to prevent condensation. Mike arranged scaffolding and a skip and it was all done and cleaned up with in the day. I found the price to be fair and I wish I had known of him years ago when I first had the leaking Chimney problem, it would have saved a lot of money and upset. I will always recommend him to friends. thank you Mike.

Weâve just had a full re-roof undertaken by Mike and really couldnât be happier with the end result! This was a big job and we were keen to make sure that we went with the right contractor. We definitely did! Mike offered good advise beforehand and provided us with a detailed quotation & delivered a very professional service throughout. Our house being around 100 years made it a very messy job removing the old roof coverings, but the outside area was left immaculate once theyâd finished and all waste disposed of. The level of disruption over the duration of the works was also very minimal, despite that fact me and my wife were both working from home. Iâd definitely recommend Makerfield Roof solutions to anybody looking to have some roof work undertaken around the local area. As I say, we couldnât be happier with the end result. The new roof looks fantastic.

Mike re-roofed a terraced house that I own and at the same time that of the adjacent neighbour. He re-used slates which were not damaged and replaced damaged ones with matching reclaimed slates. He worked hard throughout and installed good quality underfelt and treated timber battens on which to fasten the slates. He replaced some old gutters and re-mortared in the ridge tiles. He completed the job in a timely manner. He communicated well when matters arose where he wanted input as to how he was to proceed.when different choices were available.

I contacted Mike having reviewed Wigan Councils Good Trader Scheme whilst searching for a roofer - I also contacted a few others, however Mike was the only roofer that examined the roof, gave me good advice and provided a quote very quickly, due to the covid lock down it was some weeks before the work could commence but Mike kept me up to date throughout. The quote was very reasonable and certainly not over priced. I valued his opinion and once a start date was agreed the work which was a complete re roof on a terraced property happened very quickly despite the rain. I felt Mike was very professional and conscientious throughout. He turned up when he said he would and even worked through the rain at times. I was very impressed with his workmanship and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. I feel he was honest and reliable, what more can you ask from a Tradesman

The start date for roof repairs was a little longer than we hoped for, but was weather dependent. Mike kept in touch and carried out a patch repair to tide us over until the task could be completed. Second time we have used this company and find the customer service and quality of work to be excellent. Always polite, on time and tidy. Prices are reasonable and the patch repair was done free of charge.

Mike came to look at our leaking roof and carried out a quick repair before providing advice and options to under short term or long term fix. We decided on a long term repair which meant replacing the roof. Mike kept us in the loop in the wait period (due to other committments he had) but maintained regular dialogue.The quality of the workmanship is excallent it was undertaken really quickly and with minimum fuss. They cleaned everything up and other than a new roof you wouldn't know they had been. We really couldn't fault them and the price was very reasonable for the work undertaken.

Had a recommendation to use Makerfield Roof Solutions from an electrician.We had a flat roof replaced with fibreglass and new fascias and guttering.Brilliant standard of work, all waste taken away and site left tidy. This is the first time I have used the company. I have had previous work done very badly by a number of roofers. However, I was very impresses by Makerfield Roofing. They replaced the roof on a 125 year old detached house and did an excellent job. They were very efficient and tidy and I would not hesitate to recommend them again.
