Karl supplied and fitted 2 outside security lights for me. This is the 2nd time I have used Karl and would most definitely recomend his services. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Initially phoned him and got the answerphone. I didnât leave a message but he phoned me back anyway. Impressive. Managed to squeeze in my job on his way home from another job and very quickly sorted out the problem. He even sent a text later to ask if I was happy with the job which of course I was. I cannot thank Karl enough at KDM electrical, we have used Karl on a number of occasions for big and little jobs and he always shows up to carry out the work when he says he will, sometimes even late into the evening if we have given him short notice but he knows that we really need it looking at. There are even times he has asked for no payment and that a donation to a little girls charity fund is all that is needed. Recently we have had issues with a tradesman whoâs work was just not up to standard and Karl helped us immensely with this, helping us find someone to complete the work and calling round to help with things and put the work right that the previous tradesman had done wrong. He will message or ring me to see how things are going and to make sure are project is moving on. He really is a fantastic guy who is so kind and considerate, so extremely conscientious in how he carries out his work. When looking for tradesman on the good trader I always look at the top reviewed for that particular field of work and in my opinion Karl is a shining light of the scheme and a credit to how the scheme is run.

My elderly parents (80+years) cooker packed up at teatime last night. I contacted Karl as I was worried about safety. It was after 5pm and he came all the way from Wigan to New Longton Preston to check the electrics. This was in the middle of a motorway shutdown and chaotic traffic. Cannot thank him enough for making my mum and dad feel safe.

After reading the reviews here I contacted Karl and now I too cannot speak highly enough of Karl - he came to do a complete electrical check for us. He turns up when he says he will and is polite, professional and goes out of his way to help you. On coming a second time to sort a broken socket, he refused to take any payment and instead asked us to donate to a local childâs charity. Absolute lovely guy. Will recommend to all.

We had bathroom lights that were tripping the electrics in the house. Karl responded very quickly and turned up the next day just as he said he would. He located and fixed the problem promptly. Instead of a fee he asked if we could make a donation to a local charity which he supports. It's nice to know that there are still genuine caring tradesmen out there.

Karl initially visited our property in November 2020 and attentively listened to our requests to replace an old Victorian lamp post with new security lights. He gave us various options to choose, according to our needs and also ideas on decorative spotlights in our front garden. A couple of days later, we contacted Karl to make arrangements for his installation. His prices were very competitive and his workmanship outstanding! This will be a first, I am a local electrical company and have had to isolate due to a member of staff testing positive. I contacted Karl as one of my customers was without lighting or a shower. Knowing the importance and working together Karl adjusted his schedule to fit them in. He worked tirelessly into the late evening to provide power for them. Electrical companies rely on repeat business so donât usually involve other contractors but I had no doubt this company would not only provide a first class service but also I had no fear of losing a customer. Nothing was too much trouble for this very pleasant young man ! He called ahead of arrival for security's sake. The work was finished quickly and efficiently with advice given. He never wants recognition for anything he does for our community but I wanted to personally thank him and let people know what a absolute diamond he is in our community. I first met Karl while running my homless charity and we was run on donations only and Karl was one of the first people to offer his services for free in any way to help the charity. He went on to help many people for us including nearly a full rewire and many electrical jobs for an elderly man who house was in such disrepair Karl spent many hours, days, weeks fixing things and repairing things and making the house safe again never accepting a penny. He has helped another charity who I worked for in many ways comming to help when ever he was needed for free of charge. He has helped many people I know who has been left in bad ways by other companies and Karl has gone to fix and make right jobs for free people have messed up.. He has also personally helped me in my time of need. He is kind caring and has helped so many people in our community. He never wants any recognition for anything and I thought it was time people who don't know Karl know what a absolute diamond we have in our community and its people like this that make Wigan a happy place to live. ???????? Karl has done a few electrical jobs for me now, some were quite complex providing wiring for a hot tub installation and log cabin to coming out at short notice to repair and replace some dangerous electrical wiring we discovered whilst fitting a new kitchen. He is honest, reliable and nothing is too much trouble. He finds solutions and is really hard working. High quality work and great prices. Karl worked in collaboration with local plumber Steve Seddon to get my mother's immersion heater back up and running and replace a very old electric shower. Fantastic from start to finish, Karl was first class from the word go. Karl had previously carried out a very thorough, yet reasonably priced electrics survey for us on a house we were selling.More recently we contracted him in relation to a failed circuit of sockets. They gave up on Sunday, he was with us promptly, fitting us in after he had finished his jobs on the Monday.When he arrived he was very thorough with his work, checking the sockets at hand, tracing what he could back to the Consumer unit, unearthing a few issues along the way. I'd have worried about the outcome with other contractors finding such issues but Karl put us at ease, provided an honest opinion alongside various methods of solving the problems to fit in with our price range.In our opinion Karl is a very trustworthy, reliable individual who takes a lot of pride in his work!

I needed an electrician at short notice to fit in with some building work I am having, I rang Karl and he fitted the job in for me before the plasterer, He arrived on time, prepared the work area with protective film on my carpets ,also needed to move some bedroom furniture and gain access via the floor in the bedroom, carried out the work and moved the furniture back , there was no mess, he was extremely efficient and friendly and I will certainly be using him again and recommending him to my friends and family, ????????

From the moment I contacted him Karl was polite ,gave me a date which was suitable for us ,to do the job and kept us informed as the time got closer what time to expect him and checked again if this was convenient. He is very professional and knowledgeable but at the same time you feel comfortable and safe having him in your home He provided me with a test certificate via email and an invoice followed for payment via cheque or via bacs from my bank. We canât rate Karl highly enough. We recently moved house and needed to have the electrics checked. Karl came round the day after we contacted him and gave us good and honest advice - the property didnât need rewiring! Karl has been back twice since then to do jobs when we were ready for them to be done, on both occasions without us giving him much notice. Karl is an electrician who can be trusted and he obviously takes great pride in his work. He will be returning to finish our ever growing list of jobs!

Karl is a fantastic electrician who I have known for over ten years. I contacted him to ask about an issue with my Mother in Laws electrical supply to a section of the kitchen.He arrived when he said he would, providing contact through the day to keep us updated on his whereabouts as he did have a job earlier in the day to complete.He sorted the issue quickly and he made sure my mother in law who is in her seventies was able to get on with her household tasks.I'll never go to anyone else. I contacted Karl at KDM to ask if he could install an electric cooker for my mother as she had recently moved into a new apartment so it was quite urgent.He responded extremely quickly offering to come out the next day, a Sunday at 9am.The following day my mother said you could set your watch my his time keeping, arriving on the dot.My mother is a pensioner living alone but she said she felt completely at ease and had no concerns, he completed the job and my mother (Who likes a chat) said we had a natter, not part of the service but for a pensioner living alone makes a difference.Before leaving he provided advice on the first use of a new cooker.Later that evening, he contacted again, to ensure that we are happy and ask if we had any questions.I honestly cannot rate KDM high enough.

This is not the first time we have used Karl from KDM Electrical to undertake work for us, as always it is such a refreshing change to meet a tradesman that is as honest as the day is long, with quality of work completed to the highest standards. To give an example, Karl was asked to undertake a number of different electrical jobs on our house, one of which was to check and replace a large quantity of LED spotlights that had been installed by the previous home owner. Karl could quite easily have simply changed all the existing fittings, but didnt. He was honest in saying that most of the existing fittings were of a good quality and suitably fire rated, therefore a simple bulb change would suffice. How many other tradesmen are there that would be honest enough to save the customer money??? On top of that, he even gave up his Saturday over the Easter weekend to come and do the work for us. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, honesty and high standard to which Karl operates. It is reasurring to know that any work Karl has completed is done to the required standards and, more importantly, is actually safe (which could not be said about the electrical works that previously existed in the property). Karl even took the time to point out and explain some of the problems encountered, as well as explaining why new light fittings were not needed in a lot of cases. Rang Karl at lunchtime yesterday about a problem with my 92 year old mother-in-law's kitchen light. The problem was sorted out by 10am this morning. Karl was punctual, pleasant and courteous, and a tidy worker. I have used him once before on a job at my house. I fully recommend him.

Full house rewire Karl went beyond his work requirements My outside lights were replaced and internal lighting replaced with new, more efficient systems Bathroom lights not suitable were replaced also without my asking him and smoke detectors installed. All in all the work carried out was to the highest standard and on and in the time specified. Extra work to improve my home including the above not billed as extra. Prior to the rewire, Karl attended several callouts to us over Christmas to help us through a difficult time with intermittent electricrical problems. This guy deserves a medal!

Karl quoted us for a full house re-wire which we accepted. He turned up for work early every day and was meticulous in ensuring minimum mess and disruption to the house. I first contacted Karl to do an electrical test on a property I was purchasing. He was flexible, friendly and able to work around the existing owners. After identifying 2 problematic sockets, I asked him to make a return trip to fix the sockets and new light fittings. Karl went above and beyond on his second visit, fixing light switches, installing me a new landing light at no cost and fixing cabling. He walked me through everything he was doing and talked me through the electrics setup of the house. Right from the outset I was impressed with KDMs professional but yet personal approach to the work. From turning up on time to explaining everything that was required in a polite and simple manner for non electricians to understand. Karl couldn't do enough to help and assist in what we thought was going to be a major job but turned out to be not as big of a nightmare as we thought. I would highly recommend KDM Electrical to anybody who is worried about employing over priced cowboys, its nice to know there are still some decent hard working local tradesmen in the area.

As I was having a new kitchen fitted I employed Karl to do all the necessary electrical work in connection with the installation. It's always a worry when choosing a tradesman but as soon as Karl arrived to give me a quote I realised that he was someone who could be trusted. He's a very likeable person and made no attempt to sell me something I didn't need, gave me excellent advice and a very fair price. The work has been carried out to an excellent standard. Karl worked to meet the fitters timescales perfectly and even rectified a problem with the central heating timer caused by the tiler! He's a neat and tidy workman too which is also a bonus. We had electrical faults causing problems with electrical appliances. Karl came and tested the circuit and identified the fault. He recommended a rewire of the main ring circuit that the appliances were on. He completed the work in good time, leaving a clean work area. After completing the work he returned to examine and rectify some damage caused to the electricals by another tradesperson.

Karl carried out a CCTV system installation for us at our property and we could not fault the work, dedication & skill that he has. Karl started the process by calling at the property one evening to take a look and advise us of what he would need to do and where best to position the system, he also gave us an unbeatable quote for the work. On the afternoon of the install Karl arrived on time and took a final look at the property, he talked me through where the drilling would be required and carried out the drill with minimal mess and cleared the area afterwards. He ran the cables to the cameras and clipped them to the property, he would not rest until the area was neat and the cables pinned in the best position. He also noticed an issue with our drain pipe, although nothing to do with his work he fixed it for us. It is easy to see why Karl is commended for his work and has great reviews, I would without a doubt recommend him to anyone and he will definitely be my go to guy for anything electrical in the future

Full rewire of 1964 3 bed house. Karl spent time discussing our requirements for the job and made useful suggestions, especially regarding the architectural features we did not want damaging during the work. Chose this trader from the recommendations on Good Trader site. I needed my bathroom lights fixing and a faulty socket in kitchen. Karl came when he said he would and soon diagnosed the fault. This is the second time we have used Karl to do some electrical work. He fitted us in, even in the busy period up to Christmas, and quoted us a very reasonable price. He installed a Nest thermostat for us, then stayed to wirelessly connect the devise and check the connection was working, which isn't really in his job description. He stayed much longer than he expected to ensure all was working fine. Karl is a great electrician, and takes pride in his work and would definitely recommend him for any type of electrical work.

I called Karl to get a quote for replacing 2 light fittings and a broken extractor fan. He came a couple of days later to do the work at the time agreed and I immediately felt he was a good honest tradesman. Thank you Karl for not letting us down (as previous electrains have done). You came today to complete all aspects of wiring before our new kitchen is due to be fitted this week. We were amazed at how efficient you were as we never realised how much electrical work was needed. You even cleaned up any mess caused by plaster having to be knocked off the walls for wiring and sockets.(as previous workmen shy away from it). Nothing was too much trouble and you gave some good advise on areas of electrics that we hadn't thought of....Thank you for working all day Sunday which fitted in with us not having to have time off work too. We will be recommending you to our friends and family if they ever need an electrains.

Karl was recommended from a friend as we had been let down by a previous electrian whilst having a new kitchen fitted. The kitchen could not be installed until all the wiring for plug sockets, cooker sockets, lighting etc was done. We contacted Karl to ask if he could call and help us in anyway. He came out that same night, assessed the work and fitted us in two days later (Sunday ) to do all aspects of electrical work needed in order for us to continue with our kitchen fitted. A massive big thank you to Karl for calling at short notice and reassuring us that he would complete the electrical work we desperately needed doing.

A big heart felt THANK YOU goes to Karl from KDM Electrical. Without Karlââ¬â¢s assistance I would have been ripped off by a so called Electrician and my new house would still be unsafe.I hired Karl to complete some small electrical jobs around my new house (addition of several down lights, move a shave point, change a pull cord, add / change light switches, add a new light fitting etc.) all the requested jobs were completed in a day. Previously, I had asked the dodgy Electrician to completed the same jobs where his reply was ââ¬Åit would take him and an another Electrician (his mate) a day to complete and a day would be pushing it!ââ¬ÂWhile Karl was at my house completing the said jobs Karl noticed the new consumer unit which was installed weeks earlier by the dodgy Electrician failed to comply with the current legalisation. One of the serious issues that was noticed by Karl was that the new consumer unit which was fitted, was fitted over the main gas pipe. The cables at the top of the Consumer Unit was touching the gas pipe - minimum distance for live cables from a gas pipe is 50mm. There were another 3 serious issues noted by Karl. All the issues were documented in a report. Yet still this dodgy Electrician issued me with a DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CERTIFICATE when the Consumer Unit should have failed this was unacceptable.Armed with all the information Karl had told me and the report Karl had written I was able to bring the dodgy Electrician to account, thus I asked for all my money back which I received .Without Karlââ¬â¢s assistance I would have been left with an unsafe house and that dodgy Electrician would have taken my money.Karl I cannot thank you enough.If you require an Electrician I was definitely recommend Karl.

Excellent job done by Karl. He called round the same day we rang and job done next day. Very good pricing and communication. Quick at doing job and tidied up really well after. Have had couple of jobs done by Karl and would happily recommend his company to other people. Always turns up when promised and excellent to have in house, lovely guy. Brilliant electrician.

so impressed with karl mather ,come out and done some electrical work for me ,he done a brilliant job,my supplier wouldn,t put my electric on until i had a safety certificate to show them,this guy came out ,fitted a consumer board for me, found the fault,done the safety check,give me the certificate,no messing,such a polite man ,no mess,and quoted me over the phone,so propessional.i was made up with everything including the price.you don,t many genuine people but this guy is definitley one of the few.definitley recomend this guy to my friends,thanks to karl i know have my electric back on.THANKS SO MUCH KARL

Karl provided the ultimate customer service experience by providing clear and easy to understand information regarding the fitting of a new modern electrical consumer unit, he also produced the mandatory certification and in addition drew up a full report on the state of the electrical infrastructure at the property identifying potential work that would have to be completed to bring the property up to date with current regulations. Karl is a 'one off' professional who takes pride in his work thus giving the customer 'peace of mind' i would definitely use Karl again and he comes highly recommended.

Completely satisfied with work carried out by Karl, gives good advice. Partial rewire done kept decoration to a minimum, also complete rewire to garage.All work carrried out efficiently and competiveiy priced. Honest worker would recommend to anyone nothing to much trouble.

Saved me from freezing! My thermostat just decided to stop working. Karl came straight out to look at it. Both agreed best to get another one. He looked at different thermostats and found me a great deal. He came back on his day off and fitted it. Would recommend to anyone!!

Called Karl for a quote after finding him on the Good Trader Scheme. He came the same day on his way home and provided a very competitive quote for a small job of fitting a loft light. He also gave lots of sound advice regarding other potential works which we mentioned. He came in the same week to complete the works to a high standard, efficiently and left no mess. Nice, friendly guy and has time for any query. Would definitely recommend and won't hesitate to call him again.

I went on the Good Trader Scheme as I needed an electrician to fit some new light fittings, sockets, switches, outside lights etc. Karl came to the house to assess the work to be done and said he would provide a quote. The next day he emailed the quote which gave a complete breakdown of parts and labour - it was very clear and precise and very professional. It was also reasonable for the amount of work / time it would take. We agreed a day for the work to be done and Karl arrived promptly as expected. He is such a nice, friendly person who is very skilled at his job - I was really impressed by his professionalism - he worked hard through the whole day without hardly a break and I would have no hesitation in recommending him - his work was first class and he was extremely helpful when I asked for advice on other electrical work.

After being let down by 2 other electricians, extremely frustated and wary we asked some friends if they knew of a reliable and trustworthy electricians, they passed Karls details onto us, as they had used Karl to carry out a full rewire on their 1900's property and were extremely pleased with his work. Karl came to our propertybto evaluate the work we needed, at the time our kitchen was pretty much a building site, with unidentified wiring hanging everywhere. We discussed our needs, Karl quoted us a price, which we felt was fair and reasonable. Before he left, at no extra cost he "made safe" all dangerous wiring, he did this unpromoted. Karl arrived on time the next day to complete the job, he worked extremely hard and stayed until 8.30pm in order to have things ready for our plasterer who was scheduled to come the following day. Karl said he would be happy to connect our new oven and hob at no extra cost, which we felt truely was fantastic customer service. True to his word Karl has just finished fitting our appliances. We cannot recommend Karl and KDM enough, it is rare and virtually impossible to find tradesmen who are so efficient, reliable and genuine.

Cannot thank Karl enough. Karl was tasked with installing lighting and sockets in our new build industrial unit and has done an amazing job. This review is overdue. Karl has always performed all the electrical jobs that I needed, he is very trustworthy (which is very rare these days), never feel like he's ripping me off. He has fitted my security light, security cameras and put in new light switches/sockets to name a few. Most recently, Karl came to my rescue this weekend when my freezer broke and the contents had already began to melt. I contacted him first thing in the morning and although the freezer was unrepairable he quickly found me a replacement freezer and delivered it to me at a very reasonable price. Would recommend to everyone I know.

Karl 1st installed a new consumer unit and sockets in the lounge for us. He was always on time, polite and tidy and completed the work very quickly. I was asked by work to contact an electrician for some work that needed doing in the office. I rang Karl and he came and provided 2 quotes explaining exactly what needed doing. He was polite, efficient and punctual. He has been back to the office to complete other work and he has also been to my home address to fit security lightning. Performed a quick systematic diagnosis of problem and repaired same. Identified some safety issues with old installations and replaced same. Installed new fittings including wiring and testing. A pleasant and affable individual who cleaned up as he went through job and removed scrap materials.

I had to call this electrician when my electricity stopped in my home over the Christmas period as an emergency call out, he came around as soon as he could he was polite and got the job done quick for us, as we didn't understand what had happened he also took the time to talk us through exactly what he had to do and why.
